Band Labels - Common or Not

I was just wondering if the odds of you getting a record deal or a band label (probably the same thing, i aint sure) are very low, high or average because i see many bands with them on myspace

im not saying becoming famous but at least getting some sort of contract?

funny topic. you mention myspace and record deals. the girl i play for just signed a record deal with myspace/interscope records. this is good for me, it give me a job.
