(Personal experience)

My advice - don't settle on "____ for Ransom" and keep your ideas flowing. Each of you should write down what you think are cool words on a piece of paper and throw them in a hat. Mix them, write down the combinations, then have a hearty laugh about some of the ridiculous ones that you came up with. Eventually (hopefully) you'll settle on something you can all be happy with.

It's also a good practice in making sure you are not just putting together the first thing that comes together (applies to songwriting as well) and learning to self-criticize and edit, which is a great lesson for a band to try and reach higher goals and write better music.

Good luck.

Yeah I know what you mean. We actually have been thinking of a name for a good amount of time now, but we're really stuck on that phrase.

Not exactly worried, but once we record our music we're planning on putting some on facebook or reverbnation. Without a name though it's really weird to try that. Also we most likely have a show in April so it's better to get something good now instead of later.

This band Name is Now being Held for Ransom... seriously. I just registered the "blank for ransom" bit. I'll sell it to you when you finally decide on the blank. Nice doing business with you.
