Are there other CD collections out there like this series? This is a pretty cool concept.

If you like jazz, Jamey Aebersold has 50+ books out with charts and CDs. They're very good.

I have noticed one thing since I got this CD. I am learning the fretboard better than just looking a chart or doing scales. I will take lessons (hopefully soon) but since I am teaching myself I am starting like I did for trumpet. However it seems to me I can learn more quickly where the notes are and how they are placed physically when I am playing with something.
