Band presence online..what's everybody using these days?

Ever since my originals band has slowed down, I've been behind the times....
Recently we put together a covers band and we have a Myspace page that I put together, but to be honest, myspace seems to be sinking farther into the shadows with each passing year... what are you all using these days to advertise your band online?

Reverb Nation any good?

and...if I may humbly ask - can some of you guys friend us on myspace? We're trying to get gigs and a myspace page without too many friends doesn't help land shows! I would be eternally grateful!

Well this is how it works according to me. Myspace is music and art page. Send people there to see artwork and listen to your music. You should still use it to promote and updated it regularly, but its not going to be your constant contact to your fan base.

That's what Facebook is for. That is the site that you need constantly use to communicate with people. Most people are on it and check it constantly. Its not good for uploading music and art.

ReverbNation, is a good source for original bands. I'm not 100% on that but from what I can tell there is some sort of ranking system.

For covers the best thing to do is invest into nice flyers and post them in the clubs you play, music stores. To be a successful cover band I feel you need to focus on your immediate area. So Face Book is a good for that.
