Which band from (the Republic of) Ireland is better?

Personally, I feel that Thin Lizzy is much better than U2. Phil Lynott beats the piss out of Bono. Thin Lizzy in my opinion is the best band from Ireland, although many people will (mistakenly, IMO) give that honor to U2.

Tough to vote against U2.
Me I like The Pogues and The Cranberries.

I love the Pogues as well, but technically they're from London.

Thin Lizzy is from Ireland? I never knew that. I'll pick them over U2 any day.

Heck, I would vote for Dropkick Murphys over U2

(Yes, I know )

1st choice - Them

2nd choice - The Corrs because the 3 sisters in the band are so pretty and talented as well.

There seems to be a lot of U2 hate around here, but while Phil is one of my favorite bassists, I think U2 just has better songwriting. I just can't listen to TL for more than one or two songs at a time. I am a big admirer of the Edge.
