Hey, points for spelling "unnecessarily" correctly!

A local "blooze" guitarist (he wore his SRV homage way too heavily- you know the "hats 'n' Strats" kind). Had an Ibanez Strat-style guitar with OK pickups, but he used a crapped-out Super Reverb. The wires to the speakers were twisted on, not soldered nor using terminal clips. So as the amp vibrated, the speaker wires bounced on and off the terminals and different speakers would cut in and out, the amp would suddenly get louder then quieter (well, at least as far as one can use "Super Reverb" "SRV fan" and "quiet" in the same sentence). I asked him to let me solder the speaker leads on, but he didn't "want to mess with the mojo of that amp, man!".

hahaha wow that NAILS it. had a similar issue with this guy i played with for a year or so. he had a real old fender tube amp...from the 60's or some damn ancient time period lol. thing used to just crap out alllll the time. he must have spent thousands getting it repaired over and over again, and he was a manager at a major car dealership so i know he had the money for something new. i guess he had that sort of gear insecurity where just because it was a "vintage fender tube amp" he HAD to use it. realistically, if he had spent as much time practicing as he spent worrying about his amp functioning properly, i might still jam with him from time to time.

Singer/guitarist that uses a Takamine "Jasmine" acoustic because he doesn't want his "good" guitar to smell like smoke. It doesn't matter that it the intonation is off and it won't tune. Every song sounds like "No excuses" by Alice in Chains.

oh god my friend used to play one of those jasmine basses. i wouldn't call it "unnecessarily crappy" because he's not real serious about bass, but that thing was a nightmare. you could feel the carpal tunnel developing after like 30 or 40 seconds of playing lol.

The plethora of guitarist who won't replace a bad cable. Every gig or rehearsal they're fiddling with the cable ends, trying to get them positioned just right so it won't crackle and cut out... HATE 'EM!!!!

One of my drummers toms is duct taped on, because he's to cheap to buy a piece so he can attach it like it's supposed to be.

Hi.

I've always figured that it's not my place to comment on anyones choice of gear. I do expect the same courtesy from others.

One always has the option to walk if they feel something's "not up to the standard", whatever that may be.

Regards
Sam
