No? I mean ... yes? Damn! I never know how to answer those types of queries in the positive. My gf does that to me all the time.

Didn't know Zakk was a singer though.

Ah, yeah, about that. Lars isn't either, as well as several of the guys from .38 Special. Alas, they don't ALL crossover.

Eddie Vedder is a talentless hack.

Careful HaMMerHeD. I just took one on the chin for making that statement.

I had no idea so many people hated Eddie Vedder too. Is it the tone of his voice?

My chin can handle it.

The raspy tone of his voice, his nannygoat vibrato, and his apparent inability to sing in an intelligible fashion.

It's mostly the fact that he can't really sing, carry a tune, or find the pitch to save his life. I saw them on SNL just a year or two ago and he was so amazingly bad and embarrassing my wife and I had to switch the channel. Worse than anyone I've heard totally flailing on my local scene in years. Completely out of tune, out of time, and croaking more than vocalizing. It was pathetic. He made some decent records a few decades ago, but talk about resting on you laurels.

I'm surprised about the Chris Cornell comments. I could see not liking his style, maybe, but he's a technically gifted vocalist, everything Vetter is not, except perhaps a crazy egotist. I think they both suffer from massive untreatable cases of LSD. Anthony Keidis: yeah, B+ for effort, but he needs a new rhythmic pattern for his tuneless chanting. Too bad because his vocal quality and energy are a good match for the Peppers, I just don't think he was able to make the transition to their new style as well as the other members of the band. Axl Rose: so annoying! And so much like a wanker version of Ethel Merman. Really have always felt he ruined GNR for me.

Ok, enough bashing. Singing for a rock band is hard to do, very hard to do well, and frankly, it does take a big ego. No one wants to see Mr. Bashful fronting a kick-ass band. Very little pitch reference, and precious few solid cues, singing for a rock band is hard.

Totally thought Kiedis was bad ass on BSSM, but he is NEVER good live IMO. I like Chris Cornell. He has trouble hitting the high notes live, but it usually turns out okay.

Saw Vedder doing the thing with Roger Waters on the hurricane benefit thing. Absolute crap. I imagined David Gilmour crying when he saw it.

Simon Bonney in Crime & the City solution. I listened to him anyway because the music was so cool (and I missed the Birthday Party) .

The Brand New Heavies with Siedah Garrett! Didn't ruin the band (they were kinda dead already) but she just was not the right voice or front person for them. That is one unsexy lady! Way over the top visually!

You're not the only one.

One singer I can't seem to tolerate is the guy Steve Harris has on his British Lion cd. I keep trying to listen to the cd and like it but I can't get past the singing on there.

OH HELL YEAH!
I dont know who the dude is, but you'd think a major powerhouse guy like Harris could've gotten somebody MUCH MUCH better.
It would've been better if he brought Di'Anno back!!!

I heard one cut from that recording and now I'm not gonna buy it. Just because of the bad vocals.

And its funny about the split on Geddy Lee. I think most of us would agree that as a bassist, he's among the cream of the cream but as a vocalist...well, maybe not so much.
