Talking Bands and/or songs you are afraid to admit you like.

What are some bands or songs that you secretly like, and are a bit ashamed of?

For me, I'm a metalhead. I dress like one, I look like one, I have the hair... I AM metal. But...

I secretly like Muse and The Killers after seeing them live last January.

I apologize for nothing. I'm the one listening to it, no one else.

I have no problem admitting I like anything, but other people seem to look at me funny when I say any of the following:

Enya
Partridge Family
Soundtrack to Grease
Bee Gees
Kiss
The song Sad Eyes (I think it's got one of the simplest most catchy basslines ever)
Lots of pop 70s

Waay too many songs and groups to list. Those were off the top of my head.

It's not exactly being ashamed. Say you like hard rock, and so do all your friends... but you have a secret love for opera. And if you told them they would all kinda be like "WHAA???". I want to know stuff like that.

Joe Nerve - Enya is great!

My wife put in a Poe album the other day while we were on the road (not the angry johnny album, newer than that) and I caught myself groovin to it.

Oh yeah - they're on my list too. Do you know that Karen Carpenter won top drummer back in the seventies in a playboy readers poll. John Bohnam was #2.

ROON, how about Ray Lynch? He'd have been on my first list but I don't think anyone knows who he is.

Hey, we're bass players, we can groove to pretty much everything. I'm sure a lot of us have even grooved to the signal while waiting to make a left turn at an intersection before...

Actually, some of the newer MCR is pretty rockin. There are some songs that I would be pretty proud of if my band wrote them, and I'm as far as you can get from emo.

I think Black Parade would be an awesome song to play in an arena.

I play finger drums to my turn signal all of the time, I think I was meant to be a drummer but my Muppets drumkit burned up in a house fire when I was 6.

Duncan Sheiks Barely Breathing album is nothing to be ashamed of.

I absloutely love Def Leppard yet would be very ashamed to admit I like them. They scream 'naff 80s hair-rock'.

I hate to admit it, but Slipknot Duality is a rockin tune.

I have to listen to some Attention Deficit or Gary Willis quickly afterwards to feel "clean" again.

Also, as a Christian I probably shouldn't listen to metal, but I love Dream Theater!

Now to listen to some Level 42 to hide the embarassment!
