Big time Dixie Chicks fan, alt leat up until the last album.

And I do like Taylor enough to listen and watch her stuff on TV. Being totaly subjectice about it and throwing my personal tastes aside, I think she is the best solo writer/player in the past 20 years. Cyrus and Pickler grabbing her to write songs speaks towards this as welll.

I'm at home listening to political/societal metal.

Don't own any albums, but I DVR'd her appearance on Live at Abbey Road, and she really blew my mind. Hope that doesn't ruin my punk rock credentials...

It took a while to ever admit I like Duran Duran's stuff. But it's catchy. Back in the 80's with all my rock/metal friends.. you didn't dare bring up that band.

That tune is sweet and you all can bite me if ya think I believe you don't all like it too.

I have a number of these, but the biggest is Karen Carpenter. If there has been a better, pure alto voice in pop music--a genre with thousands and thousands of good alto voices--I don't know whose it is.

Her voice stops me in my tracks to listen virtually every time I hear it. Listen to how solid and pitch perfect she hits the three, opening low notes in "Only Yesterday" from a dead, cold start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdfGLEEPeAo. Unbelieveable!

I'm proud to admit I'm a fan. A tragic loss.

No one should be embarrassed by anything they listen to.

I mostly listen to classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Stones, Cream, etc.) but my favorite vocalist is Emmylou Harris. I love the sound of her voice, I just wish she would enunciate.

Ever hear of Miley Cyrus?

Not that I listen to her! Just, if I did (which I don't!) I'd be very embarassed to admit it.

But I don't!!!

Of course, they shouldn't...and I'm not. By the same token...

No one should be so #%^*@%$ literal about the title of a TalkBass thread.

I'm a sucker for big ballads. I even like Celine Dion and Josh Grobin. If you tell anyone I will kill you.
