Bands Where Everyone Sings

Sign in to disble this ad
Help me out here. I'm trying to think of bands with members that have all taken a lead vocal on at least one song.

Got as far as The Beatles, obviously, and Kiss (!). After that, I'm stumped.

Fwiw, I am putting a monster Xmas pop quiz together (months in advance!)

I am pretty sure Mastodon is one of those bands.

I'm pretty sure everyone in The Band sang, and most if not all did lead vocals at least once AFAIK.

Mastodon...not sure Bill sings any lead.
The Band...ditto Garth Hudson.

Happy to be proved wrong...rather that now than arguing with a team of drunks at Christmas!

The Bangles, though you wouldn't know it based on the videos that got played.

Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young I think...

Not really a fan, so I wouldn't really know.

+1 to the Eagles.

Also, the Who.

King's X

UPDATED:
Doug, the bass player, sings the most of the lead vocals, most notably "Over My Head," "Black Flag," "Dogman," .
Ty, the guitarist, sings some of the leads, most notably "It's Love."
Jerry, the drummer, sings on only a few (Wikipedia says three, I think they are "Six Broken Soldiers" from the self titled record, "American Cheese" from Ear Candy, and "Julie" from XV).

Tons of harmonies on all the King's X records, and each of them has recorded some kind of solo record. Talented guys, for sure.

The Presidents of the United States of America all sing at some point.

The Adicts all sing at live shows.

I think all the members of Fugazi have done lead vocals (maybe the drummer hasn't, can't remember).

This is great. Thanks. Remember, I'm not talking about back up vocals, or sharing lead vocals. Has to be bona fide solo lead for whatever passes as the main bit if a song.

Would really help if you could name a track if it isn't obvious. The Bangles, for example. What song does the bass player sing?

Thanks again.

Axis of Awesome, and i think all members of Avenged Sevenfold (Exluding the new drummer) have all sang lead whilst playing live before now. There is also a local band near me called Boomin who's members all take lead vocals and have all played guitar at one point, an incredibly fun band.

Axis of Awesome? As in the Aussie comedy trio? Are they actually a band too? If so, they count...

The Moby Grape, 60's San Fran band. Probably the most talented band of the time there.

I think Buffalo Springfield too.
