bands you like that don't fit your typical music taste.

I'm curious what bands/artists people like outside of the normal music you listen to. For example I'm a classic rock and modern blues guy. Rush, Zeppelin, ZZ Top, SRV, Clapton, etc. Lately I have been getting into some newer bands thanks to my teen age son and Guitar Hero. A couple of his favorites, Fall Out Boy and Paramore are starting to grow on me. So what do you people like outside the norm?

My tastes are so all over the map that I can find acts in pretty much any genre that I like.

Vampire Weekend. Really different stuff, there. I'm a classic pop and rocker with tastes into today's rock and some pop.

80s thrash is what my roots are in. I love Mindy Smith though.

For me its usually metalcore galore. But I seem to have a thing for sounds like Death Cab For Cutie and The Postal Service.

I'm in the same boat as Jimmy, but also agree about Paramore. Great band.

Im typically a metalcore/metal guy, but i love RHCP. I also am growing more fond of Paramore, The Offspring, and (some other band). I also enjoy occasionally grooving to Come On, Come Over
