Other than putting your gear in Fort Knox what do you guys do to secure your gear at your house? Has anyone made a metal rack to lock up their bass cases or used a cable lock to slow down burglars? |

I've got it. my stuff walks away with someone else, I get new stuff. Plus anyone manly enough to smash and grab my amp/cab, I'm probably not gonna mess with them.
Most break ins around me are punk kids that are looking for quick easy to carry crap...IE...Xbox games, DVDs, DVD players, cash, coins, & guns. Likely your gear wouldn't get touched. To hard to carry and conceil making a get away. |

On the other hand, I'd applaud anyone who'd have the balls to try and move my gigging amp down 3 flights of stairs with anything resembling rapid forward momentum. If I tried to do that, I'd be killed!

Insurance is the only way to go. Most homeowners insurance covers personal belongings up to a limit so you might already be covered. Just making sure you have pictures, ect. |

but GPS / RFID tracking devices are small and cheap enough to put on your gear.

And they probably wouldn't because the TV, DVD, computer, etc. are a LOT easier to convert into cash than a bass amp and some cabinets.
Be prudent, and relax...

You will go nuts - and broke - trying to prevent everthing bad from ever happening to your stuff.
How do you keep your rig from being burned in a fire? Sprinkler system? No, wait, that would ruin the rig anyway. You'd better have a fireproof vault to put everything in...
How do you keep your rig safe from an airplane crashing into your house? Automatic antiaircraft guns on the roof? |

I know a pro would be able to break into anything I could weld up if they had the time and motivation. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
