Bass amp overdrives - for guitar?

I wonder how a tube bass amp (or preamp such as SVP-PRO, Walkabout) does overdrive/distortion for guitar? Will they sound good? What's the max overdrive that I can get out of any of those? Can they get to the classic rock territory?

FWIW, Walkabout is an amp, not a pre.

I only know that the EBS Valve Drive makes anything you run through it sound bigger and warmer, in a satisfyingly chunky way (IMO)
best
I have heard of guitarists taking the FullTOne Bass Driver, over the guitar model cos itsounds fatter
