I had to change my strings the other day and thought that I would make something out of the old ones since they were pretty much dead. Here's what I came up with. |

When I take strings off my bass, they're all floppy and loose, there's no way I could just bend them into the right shape and they'd stay like that.

Mikey Fingers: they seem floppy and loose, but try bending one at a 90 degree angle, it will stay like thAT

My mom gave me a cross she found at a yardsale made of guitar strings, no pics, I lost it, but it was cool because it was very knotted.

I have a basket with at least 100 or more but I wanted to do this robot/human head and I'll need more than that! |

| | | Update: I made an amp for my bass guy out of some DR black beauty strings (which I didn't like, BTW). It's not as nice because there was no way I could make a perfect cube from one continuous string without using some hot glue to add some sections. Now all I have to do is run a little cable from the guy to the amp and figure out how to get him to stand up.
You can really see the detail of the glued spots in this picture, but it's really not that bad. |

| | | I actually just got the idea to have him sit on the amp. Having him stand up would have been a big problem because he was so floppy.
I just used some more wire to tie him to the amp and used a piece of a black string as the cable. |
