Question Bass Bow on Electric Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi fellow bass players.
Has anyone ever tried using a bow on their electric bass? Yes images of Jimmy Paige (sp?) are running through my head, but I thought it could have an interesting vibe.
thanks

There was a thread not too long ago about this.

It's gonna be difficult bowing an electric bass because of the lack of curvature in the fingerboard.

Ya, exactly... I tried that years back. Could only use the bow on the E and G string, and out of those two, I was only able to produce anything remotely musical on the G.

Mostly my strings just shredded the bow!

The rosin will ruin the strings.
