A bass can stop existing?

Sign in to disble this ad
...that was in your shopping cart at MF?

I finally decided to buy a Takamine EG512C in black...and Left-Handed. So I put it in the cart, it shows that it's "in stock", apply the coupon...but it shows $41 shipping when it states plainly that shipping is free. So I call MF and in THAT amount of time, it stops existing. HE can't find it in the computer, I can't find it on their website...it doesn't exist anymore....even at the Takamine site it's not there!!

Anyone have any ideas? I'm not on the crazy pills!

New or used? That's very weird... I thought that only happened with airline tickets..

i don't mean to be a smartass but you should be thankful a Tak dissappeared from your shopping cart!

An expensive Tak acoustic guitar was prolly the biggest let down of the 30 odd instruments i've owned and i've never heard or played another to make me change my predudice.

Our former guitarist once got his guitar stolen when he forgot to put it in his car after digging other stuff out. That guitar stopped existing in his world.

Check GC's website or music123.com. They usually all carry the same stuff at the same price.

I've heard of basses disappearing in the mix, but this is ridiculous.

Maybe Ebay or Amazon? You'll probably have to eat shipping though.

It pains me to say this, but I agree.
I have a very old Takamine - Jasmine ABG that I had set up nicely for me. I use a Sansamp Paradriver pre with it. It plays like a dream and sounds just as good.

I found a Tak EG512-C used at Guitar Center on a KILLER deal.
I bought it and took it to my tech for set up and inspection. He called and asked me to bring my cheapie Jasmine in. When
we checked them out side by side, amazingly the Jasmine played better and sounded more even. The more expensive electronics in the 512 sounded just fair at best. I was absolutely disappointed after wanting a EG512 for years.

Perhaps the best way to buy one of these basses is to play it first. You might get a good one. I haven't found a really good one yet.

I ended up ordering the EGB2S that Dannster mentioned. I hope it's nice, but it can always go back. This was the last day of the 15% off coupon.

...and FYI, I asked the guy at MF if I called back later in the day and ordered one MORE thing, could I still use the 'one-item-only' coupon....he said 'yeah, you could, they're not gonna check'.

Heh heh heh.

Right now, all I can think of to explain this anomaly is the following image and the meme associated with it...
