Bass Clef Tattoo?

I was wondering what you guys thought of like a small bass celf tattoo. I think I'm too young right now for one but in may I think I can get one with parent consent, but still it will be a while. I'm not talking anything fancy, just a bass cleff on like my wrist or like upper arm. How many people out there have 'em?

First...
I think it's quite boring
Second...
there's a chance you may get bored of it too and regret havingv a tat once it's there.
Third...
think very carefully as to where on your body you want it as some employers will not have you if there is any "body art" visible.
Fourth....
I'd live with the idea for some time before making a decision to see if you really want it.
Fifth...
I think a bass cleff is still a whole lot better than a manufacturers name,which I think is just pathetic and sad or a specific instrument,which may not turn out as faithful to the real bass ...

I have a tattoo on my upper arm. (USMC) It hides well when I wear a t-shirt. Keep in mind, this is permanent. On your forearm or wrist is noticeable. I am not against tats, to each his own, but you might want to wait before you make a decision that cannot go away. One day, your kids will want one...

Again, I am not against them, just make sure you're ready. Why not wait until you can make the decision yourself?

Yah. Thinking more and more about really makes you think about the negatives more than the positives.

I decided not to get it for the following reasons...

#1. Jobs (interviews and employers)
#2. I hear removing tats can be painful
#3. What if for some odd reason I stop playing bass? (Which I will never do)

As an alternative option, you could get a bass clef signet ring. My wife bought me one for my birthday. Unlike a tattoo, if you get tired of wearing it, you can just slip it off.

A buddy of mine was thinking about getting one to commemorate an event. He went and talked to a tattoo artist and asked a ton of questions, like he is prone to do. When he was told about keeping it covered with a bandage, using ointment to keep it moist, the healing required, sun issues, staying out of the pool for a certain time and such, it dawned on him that he was injecting a foreign substance under his skin. He passed on it.

I'm thinking about getting one on my left forearm. It's between that or a buddhist symbol. I like the idea, but I can see why it's not for everyone

i had a friend who was wondering what to get for his first tattoo... i asked him what his favorite thing was 10 years ago....he answered "he-man and the masters of the universe"......i said fine, get a tattoo of he-man.....he said that would be lame.....i said "exactly....anything you get now could end up pretty lame 10 years from now"....he is tattoo free

I have 5 tattoos and I only like one of them anymore. As another has said, this is permanent. Permanent in the sense that laser removal is very costly. I like good tattoo work. The problem is, when you're inexperienced it's difficult to tell what "good" tattoo work is, and sometimes you get stuff that's only enh. Do your research. Don't get it done by some mill. Try to find an independent artist with his own shop. And above, all, take your time searching. There is no rush on this.

I have one on my upper left arm. It goes from my shoulder almost to my elbow. It is high enough that it just barely polks out from a short sleeve shirt. I love it, but I took a long time to decide what I wanted, over 2 years.

I would say wait until you can get one on your own, and then wait a bit more. Be really sure of your desire to have one and your love of the design. If you don't have both, don't get one.
I hear they hurt much more to remove, and getting it in the first place hurts a lot.

I would love to get a few meaningful tats that are symbolic of my life and who I am. But one catch: I have psoriasis, and tats can cause flare-ups. So, no tats for me, no matter how much I might dream.

It's all up to you. People love tattoos, and others hate them. Don't let anyone make a decision that only YOU should be making.

If you get it someplace that can be covered by a shirt, then go for it. I have many friends with high profile jobs and tattoos. I personally have 3 and a very good job. If it's something you want, go for it. You might not like it later...but then again, you might.
