I have to apologize, cause i know this is a very discussed topic...but honestly i need new opinions as it's time for me to decide on my future. (or at least the basic game plan).

so what i'm wondering is what colleges or universities or whatever have a good music program...in wich they also have a good program for stand up/orchestral bass, AND bass guitar.

I know of berklee, but there are mixed feelings about berklee

I'm looking to go into performing, but also teaching because i love teaching bass, and have actually already started at the age of 16. i would actually really even enjoy teaching as a director of a highschool band, or music theory teacher, professer of a college, w/e.

also simply a link to a thread where this is dicussed would be nice.

and by the way, i life in west michigan.

Well, where do you live?

I'm at Humber College right now in Toronto, Ontario. So is Aaron Saunders (another TBer)

Apparently, this is the most applied to arts school in all of Canada, and one of the most prestigious music programs in Canada.
There were 1600 Applicants to the music program.
600 were accepted for an audition.
I'm not sure how many got into the degree program, but The Intro program only took 40.

The Intro program is a one year prep course. It basically gives you a year with a ton of help, to get ready for the degree.

You might want to try Manhattenville in NY. A friend of mine went there to become a music teacher.
NYU may have a program you might be interested in.
