Bass in Concert Band

Ok, it is this time of year where marching season's over, and concert season has begun. As you have may of guessed I get the chance to play bass in Concert Band. However due to other classes I'm not technically in a band class until after Christmas break. If your wondering, this my first year in highschool and I played Baritone during concert season. I was just wondering if anybody in the community has ever experienced this, and if you have what did you think about it.

(BTW, I'm a self-taught bassist that has been playing for only a year and a half.)

I am a band director and I have basses in my concert bands...
