Hi,... Ive just started in a band, and all is going "well". Hoewever, to get a "thing" going with like... create some kind of mood arround the band I would like to paint a logo on our bassdrum. Before i do, are there things i need to know about that? Like, do i need to use special paint or something?
my plan was to create a logo with tape and then spraypaint it, remove the tape and voila! there you have a logo!
so the question is, will the paint start to crumble or something with spraypaint? and , how do i paint a bassdrum ?
*im talking about the white skin on the frontside, but you guys knew it right? *just to be shure

| | | | yeah but like, our drummer already spent a fortune on a used drumkit and were looking for a low-cash-solution :P
so noone knows if the logos on drums are stickers/paint/other kind of material? |

| | | | I know some companies literally print them onto the head.
You can airbrush...and I know that back in the day, they did paint onto the head...mind you, it was calf skin.
I say don't do it...not because of the chance it might screw up, but because it's tacky. |

A kind of random symbol logo with no reference to any actual name would work best. But that just means having a randomly bizarre picture on his kick head. That's not really as cool as it sounds. "Dude. Why does your bass drum have a big old bloodshot eyeball staring at me on the head ?" "Oh. That. It's from a band I used to be in."
See? Lame.

It's a caricature of him. If anything, I would just tell the drummer to get someone to design a cartoon after his/her looks, and go from there. |

I've had great results with vinyl stickers. And not too costly either. |
