I want to put a hipshot on my bongo....i head that they dont make one that is an exact match to the rest of the stock tuning machines...

would i have to buy a complete set of tuners or just the extender?

Thanks for your help.

p.s. where can i buy them online?

you should be able to just replace one, but it will probably have a different tunning ratio compared to your others, not a problem for some, obnoxious for others

You should be able to just get one. However if you can't get a single matching one you can order a matched set if that bothers you. You can order them direct from HipShot.

The BT-1 should be a drop in replacement. The only difference will be that it will have a straight shaft instead of tapered shaft and a 22:1 tuning ratio compared to a 20:1. This drives me nuts, doesn't bother other people, so YMMV. On the other hand, if you order direct from Hipshot, you can custom order a BT-1 to have a tapered shaft to match your other tuners.

They don't make one specifically for Warwick either, but I got one for my Warwick. Looks a bit different (the part for the string to wrap around is shorter and the back is slightly different) and has a slightly different tunning ration. Didn't bother me at all and you really can't tell unless you look at/for it.
