Bass Fretmap

I found this product online. I've been looking for something like this, and it's only about ten bucks for one, and it fits a 34" scale (just right for my Geddy). I'm thinking of ordering one so I can naturally learn the notes on the fretboard (I suck at rote memorization). What do y'all think?

Personally I'd use the fret markers as the way to place the notes, albeit you need to find the notes in between, 'cause what happens when you take the stickers off!

However, if using the markers isn't working for you (and it does take a little time!) then I'd look at a DIY solution - with some tape or the like. I think I could do the same job for a tenth of the cost.

Sounds like a useful product, but you can also learn it yourself, it'll just take a bit more practice (though it might be more beneficial in the long run). Memorize landmarks (ie. open strings) and learn intervals between octaves. For example, if you know that your low string is an E, there'll be another E 2 strings up and 2 frets over (2nd fret D string), as well as one 1 string up and 7 frets over (7th fret A string). By blending the two, you can assume that the 9th fret on your G string is also an E by this logic, and so on. If I don't have the upper fretboard memorized, it takes a split second to calculate.
