| Sounds like a useful product, but you can also learn it yourself, it'll just take a bit more practice (though it might be more beneficial in the long run). Memorize landmarks (ie. open strings) and learn intervals between octaves. For example, if you know that your low string is an E, there'll be another E 2 strings up and 2 frets over (2nd fret D string), as well as one 1 string up and 7 frets over (7th fret A string). By blending the two, you can assume that the 9th fret on your G string is also an E by this logic, and so on. If I don't have the upper fretboard memorized, it takes a split second to calculate. |
