I have to say I love the printed BG magazine, even though I never get it until about two weeks after the first people get it.

But I will say your online server for the online version of BG sucks big time. I'm on a very, very high speed cable ISP access, and I have a high-end Phenom system, yet trying to get from one page to the next on the online edition seriously sucks. It takes a LONG time to go even get the first page up in Firefox.

I'd suggest you guys find a better way to serve the online edition.

I found the same thing, then realized it's a HUUUUUGE file. Give it time to load.

Good point, Michael. This is a big issue for us, and one which we are hoping to have resolved by issue #3.

The main problem is that the delivery options which are faster, allow more interactivity (with links to videos, audio files, etc.), and our other delivery & presentation goals are not free (far from it, in fact). I am not very happy at all with the performance of the current iPaper setup (though it actually loads pretty quick both on my machine at work - where we have DSL - and on my home computer - where we have cable). We've been able to make some tweaks to this format, but it still leaves much to be desired.

With any luck, though, this will be the last issue delivered in this format. We are working with several different options, and hope to have something in place for issue #4.

I have read the online version but I sure prefer the hard copy. But that's more my taste than anything to do with digital delivery.
