Bass guitar case for christmas

Sign in to disble this ad
To get to bandpractise i have to travel by bicycle, train and tram to and through amsterdam with my bassguitar (US Fender jazz bass) and pedals in my gigbag.
now i'm pretty scared of getting my gear damaged by hitting something with the neck or people falling over my gigbag or something else which my gig bag offers little protection against.

Now my girlfriend wants to give me a bass guitar case for christmas which will protect my bass allot more than a normal gigbag.

She wants to give me this one:
THOMANN ELITE E-BASS CASE - Thomann UK Cyberstore

Will this be a good case for my bass? (it looks really good for the price!)

A case on a bycicle? How do you want to do that?

I'd be looking for a quality, reinforced gigbag, if you are concerned about damage.

Such as this one SANDBERG BGB-DEL DELUXE GIG BAG - Thomann UK Cyberstore

Dude, just get one of those padded bags that'll fit on your back like a backpack. The hardshell case is heavy as hell.

Gator sells a lightweight hard case that only has the foam inside. The outside is a manmade cloth material only designed to deal with scuffs - no structural integrity. It doesn't have any backpack straps - I've only seen those on the gig bags.

I'm sure there are other similar lightweight hardshell cases available from other manufacturers.

I have one of these:

WolfPak Bass Guitar Polyfoam Case: Shop Accessories & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend

It's held up great to a couple years of steady gigging. I had to tighten one of the screws on the handle once, but that's it. The backpack straps are nice.

this one also protects the neck?
My current bag is padded but doesn't give any structural support to my bass.

If those cases are really heavy, I think one of those gigbags might be the best option
