For those who don't know...
After recieving 2 issues of Guitar World (which I never subscribed to), I called the subscription service and said there must be some problem. They told me Bass Guitar magazine was discontinued, and they were sending Guitar World to finish out my subscription. I told them I don't want GW and I want to be refunded. They told me, "The issues have already been labeled for delivery so I could only get a very small portion of my money refunded." I only recieved 1 Bass Guitar magazine on my new subscription. I told them I thought this was unethical - I never subscribed to and don't want GW. The lady got a bit of an attitude with me and told me she'll request that they refund my money. I think they should refund my money, and I hope they do.
Just givin a heads up for anyone who is suddenly noticing Guitar World in their mailbox. I thought the first issue they sent me was a complimentary issue. |

The "Van Halen" GW issue that showed up this week in place of BGW seemed to be nothing more than an Ed talks tough about how great his amp is salespitch. Sum Ting Wong....
I just give 'em to my brother...the player at the link below.

| | | Same deal for me.
Guitar World. What makes them think I want that?
And as a consolation prize, I was at least hoping the EVHalen interview would be great, and all he did was pimp a 3rd generation of his amp. |

I started a thread on this last month. Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine
GW is really a lame magazine. Sadly, there are only a few bass magazines left. |

| | | | Guitar World is crap lately. They keep using the same people for covers and do articles on the same damn bands. I don't care to see just shredders, I'd like some diversity. Not just hard rock and metal people |

She said it's only 8 issues/year for Bass Guitar and she could not tell me what months they didn't put out issues because the magazine is no longer made. Also she couldn't varify how many they may have sent me to date. But she was counting any Guitar Worlds they sent me as issued received by me! Can you believe that line of bull ! She can tell me how much $ I sent them and when but nothing about the magz they ran. Like all info on how it was run just vanished off the earth when they closed it!
I called back today after counting 2 (June-July) issues sent of BassGuitar on my new subscription and one or two Guitar Mags which I refuse to count as issues sent. The woman today said with an attitude. "why didn't you tell the woman yesterday that you don't agree with the number of issues you thought you deserved a refund for" (yes she had a wicked attitude) I said "because I didn't have the back issues with me to tally a number of my own that I thought was fare." No sooner would I get a sentence completed and she would jump right in like she was scolding me again.
She interupted my next sentence to say "I just re-did your refund amount to $12.00 ! Is their anything else today sir?!!"
I wanted to say "Ya...I don't appreciate the short attitude your taking with me!" BUT I resisted....and said as slowly and calmly as I could..."No that will be all Thanks" (note to self) DO Not Do Bussiness with these jerks on any product they sell!!

Youd think they could have ended it back in december of 2006, and just not accepted any money sent for new subscriptions.

BG mag has folded? Bummer. I know people from BP who quit to take jobs there. Hope they stay on...

They should have given subscribers the option of getting a refund instead of automatically sending the issues of "Guitar World." I have no use for it but will just give the issues to a friend. From what I've read here, it doesn't sound like trying to get a partial refund is even worth the trouble anyway. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
