The music is often recorded in stereo with bass on 1 track, drums on the other so you can eliminate your instrument. There's lots of guitarless BTs out there for guitar players. One of the first lesson CDs I bought was bassless Blues. I work mostly with Band-in-a-Box. It's easy to set up a practice track with a full band & silence 1 or more instruments.
If you are up for learning to us it, BIAB could keep you busy for a long time. It would probably cost less than buying 6 or 8 book/CD sets. Once you've mastered the basics, it will take less time to set up what you want than searching for free downloads. 8-)

I do have a licensed copy or a recording program and I do a lot of recording myself for other people I record drum tracks for them..they send me a drum-less track or an original song with out drums and I will fill that in, mix it down and render it, send it back to them as a complete song..I understand how most of that works, I was looking for a site where you could download songs of your choice that were bass-less or even a song with separate tracks and I would be able to isolate the bass from it through my program..

Bassless songs?

Hi there! I read in one of your threads that you have a lot of songs that is basless. How does it work, can I just ask you to send me some songs? Do I pay you for each song?
On the list I saw, there was a whole lot of songs that was interesting for me, as a bassteacher. These are the songs I saw on your list:
Paranoid - Sabbath
Highway star, Burn - Deep Purple
Detriot rock city - KISS
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Roxanne - The police
Livin on a prayer - Bon Jovi
Anyway you want it - Journey
Carry on my wayward son - kansas
Give it away - Red Hot Chili peppers
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
The Beatles:
Daytripper
Come together
Ticket to ride
Drive my car
Lycy in the sky

Please let me know if you can sent me any of these songs and how it works for you!

All the Bass / Spigget - Sweden ;-)

Try Jazzbooks.com. Yes its jazz, but a lot of good music. The play-along CD's have bass totally on one track.
