Hi all, I'm new here so I hope I'm in the right catagory. Does anybody make anything to make hearing bass parts on recordings easier to hear? Thanks, wrecksE

get yourself a system that has decent speakers so that you CAN hear the bass parts...the next step is a decent EQ...
beyond that, it is really up to your ears...

Another question on that subject from me would be are there any kind of head phone type devices that help you hear yourself over others while giging, jamming, or durring shows? something that still puts the sound through the amp while also putting it through head phones. Ive always had a problems hearing myself over others when I play with a band.

If you have iTunes you can turn on the EQ and just up the bass and lower everything else. Or you can buy yourself a Tascam Bass Trainer, which does the same thing and can slow down the song so you can pick out the bass part.

Get a copy of transcribe from http://www.seventhstring.com/

It's free for 30 days I think. You can eq, loop, change the tempo, change the key... It's great and it's cheap.

Thanks y'all! I appreciate the ideas. That Tascam unit sounds pretty cool.
