Bass multitool?

Anyone know if they have a swiss knife for bass? Like a screwdriver for pickups and wire cutters and truss rod adjuster and all that in one tool?

StewMac had something like that awhile back. Ordered one, it was okay. I'd prefer to just carry a small bag of basic tools. There always seems to be some size of hex wrench that you don't have...especially when you're limited to the few on a multitool

I just carry around my leatherman, some batteries and strings.
this one is good, but keep away from children and untrustworthy bandmates

I find that if you have a small zip pouch with what you need, you have a lot more flexibility. You can take just what you need, in the sizes you know will fit/work with your gear and not have excess stuff you don't want/need.

Oh, and if you're feeling nice/helpful, throw in a drum key and a guitar sized string winder as well. (You'd be surprised how often I've had use for those 2 items as a bassist.... cause of slacker bandmates)

Throw in a capo and a spare set of guitar strings and you're the band's saviour, guaranteed!
Hell, someone has to bring some tools, right?
Might as well be the one guy qualified to use 'em.

I keep my gig stuff in a beer cooler bag. It's the size of a 12 pack and will accomodate all my cords, tools, strings, tuner, EB volume pedal, fold up guitar stand, etc...

Not to mention the multi-tool costs over $100 - might be worth it in the long run, but that's the price of 3 sets of strings! Or even an SX...

I'll be taking a pouch with me with plyers, screwdrivers, and whatever else I can think of with me to shows.

I have a Git-Tool. It's similar to a Roadie Wrench. It has Phillips and regular screwdrivers, allen wrenches, wire cutter, etc. It's proven to be handy, but doesn't replace a decent tool kit.

I don't have to, my guitar player is the kind of guy who swaps pickups during a break.

I used to carry an old briefcase that contained extra strings, cords, batteries, a flashlight and a small bag of tools.

A very important piece of my rig.

Got a multitool with allen keys that fit all the sockets on my basses and bandmates guitars, various screwdrivers, a wire cutter and a small set of pliers, saved my ass a few times and fits securely in the pouch I've made in my hardcase

I have one too. Forgot what I paid for it -- it wasn't much -- but it's earned its' keep over the years tweaking basses, brake jobs on the mountain bike and general household tasks, even though the handle of the string-cutter broke immediately.

I found a small tool kit in a zip case - mostly for the zip case. I bought it, pulled some stuff out, added new stuff, now I have most of the tools I could actually use when I'm on a gig.

I'd like to put together a nice little pouch for all of the necessary tools I'd ever need (also not a fan of multi-tools). Here's what I figger. Suggestions?
  • allen keys (for the action adjustment on the bridge)
  • truss rod wrench
  • screwdriver (with interchangeable tip)
  • pliers (needle nose and flat)
  • wire cutter
  • string winder
  • tuner/metronome
  • spares (set of strings, strap, cord, batteries)
  • polish and cloth
I haven't actually assembled all of this stuff, and it might take up a bit more space than I have. Am I missing anything?
