In pursuit of getting a new 5-string bass, are there any bass-dedicated guitar shops in the San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles counties that you can recommend? I'm looking to demo a variety of basses not normally found in your local Guitar Center or Sam Ash.

From my e-mails with the only remaining employee of the "Original" one, the business, stock and website were sold to new owners a year or so ago. I haven't been to the "New" one at the new location, I really should check them out. |

Is it worth taking a trip out there or should I be able to demo everything I need between Bass Exchange in L.A. and Bass Alone in San Diego? |

Lauderdale didn't have a great selection of basses last time I was there (though they did have a fair amount of guitars.) Are they any better now? I think I can make a trip to Orlando, I've been looking for an excuse to anyway actually. |

Go anywhere except Roman's!!!!!! I dealt with that asshat years ago - and i'm still in therapy!
He was quite the ass - and I never got the service he plainly swore to...

I would HIGHLY recomend Bass Alone - John DiMaggio is great to deal with and is very honest. I've bought several basses there - great service.
