Bass Palace and Bob

I saw Bob at The Musicians Flea Market up here in Buffalo on Sunday.. He's still in business and can be reached at his e-mail (newbasspalace@aol.com).. I got to hang with him for alittle bit and he looked good, healthier and happier.. He may be looking for a new location and will probably be working on a smaller scale... I was glad to see him, it's been awhile.. He's been spending more time enjoying life and getting alot of those other things/projects done..

Last time I talked to him, he was just getting burnt-out on the whole thing. He'd lost interest in the boutique stuff, and the vintage was becoming a)hard to find and b)outrageously priced, even on the wholesale side, that it was just becoming a headache to him fielding a few hundred emails per day, probably just as many voice mails, and still having to make the rounds on the show circuit.
edit: This was at the Arlington '05 show, appx. 18 months ago, and one hell of a drive from his base in Pennsylvania.

Ah, I didn't know about this. Anyhow, it's good to hear he's in good health and happiness, and is enjoying life.

well, i'm glad to hear that bob's doing well - he's a great guy to deal with, ime. got my db680 from him and got a great deal, and great service.

this isn't bass specific, so i'll move it to misc.

glad to hear hes ok, i used t sit at hsi booth at the saratoga guitar shows every summer and sort of demo basses....he would bring basses t me and tell em to play them...i guess he liked that i was a young kid who liked to groove without being mindlessly chop happy. deffinitely a very nice guy.
