Bass Player expiration date code ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Bass Player magazine keeps sending me renewal notices, and I cannot remember when my sub is up for renewal, but it is not up yet. I know they all send out renewal notices early to pad their bottom line, but how can one tell from their label, when you 're really up for renewal? Sure, I can do a search of my checkbook, but...My label just reads a string of numbers with a May 12 in there. May 12 is long way off for renewal...

And here I thought you were asking how long does it take for a bass player to retire (you know, to "expire")... Duh, me. Until I saw the "code" bit, and your OP.

Sorry, mate. But I can't help you in that regard. I don't own a subscription.

Second line of the mailing label on the magazine. Mine clearly says (after a 12-digit code) "BPLY OCT 11" for the subscription that ended with the October issue.

OK - here it goes; your subscription ends May 2012.
Here's why you get so many bills(I do too)- In thier subscription computer system they have your renewal notice set to so many weeks (usually 5 or 12) - so a notice gets sent - then so many weeks go by, the date comes up, the system spits out another bill. They do not have the system set up to use the money on the account as the trigger -
Here's how I know this _ I've spent the last 29 years working in the circulation dept of a newspaper -
