Bass playing worship pastor?

And I don't just mean just filling in for the missing bass player. I'm wondering if a worship pastor could be the bass player and lead vocalist on a worship team (bass, guitar, drums, etc...) at church and still lead?
I've never seen this before, and am curious, as well as interested in the idea. Has anyone seen one?
I know there are lead singers that are bass players, I'm wondering if this would work in a church setting. Contemporary worship music type stuff.

And please anyone feel free to respond, not just christian/church types.

In one of the churches I use to attend our assistant pastor was also a talented worship leader ( keys, bass and drums) He would give me one week off a month on bass and he would take over. He did a good job and was an excellent player. If a guitar player could do it, obviously a bass player could do it.
