bass shops in paris

well Im on holiday in france and on friday i arrive in paris(unfortuneatly i'll miss the marcus miller concert :-( ) but i really want to find a bass shop and if anyone has leads on jazz gigs/ jams in paris happening sometime between the next 2 fridays it would make me a very happy man. thanks a bunch.

Most of the music shops are on a parallel street just below Pigalle, though I can't for the life of me remember its name. There are a bunch on both sides of the street running for about 3 blocks east/west.

I think the street is called Douai or something similar.
