Hi Guys and Gals,
First, I'm not sure this is the right forum but...
Anyway, I'm looking for a bass stand that can hold at least 5 basses and is space efficient.
I like the ones that look like a guitar case so you can take them to a gig, etc.
of course budget is an issue, I can't get a custom build stand for like $300.
Any suggestions welcome?
Thanks
Julo

My concern with the ones with tubular structure is that the foam gets packed after a while an ultimately useless.

J | I've got one of these Rockstands, has had 3-5 basses sitting in it everyday for the last 5 years...the foam-rubber does get packed where the body sits, but there's alot of "wiggle room", so slide it over 2 inches and by the next day the packed area is back to normal.

J | Your bigger concern should be the basses smacking into each other. There isn't much clearance for guitars or basses on the multi-stands, and you're bound to smack a few into each other.
The tube ones are fine. The foam wont wear out any faster than the padding on your typical one-guitar stand does.

Plus, it never "fully compresses" so that any part of your bass comes close to metal, anyhow. I've also found you can put a sixth bass on the end and it'll stay on just fine so long as it doesn't get jostled to fall forward, as there's nothing keeping it there on the outer edge... but I'd still like to pick up the 7-instrument version once I know if I'll be moving in the near future. |

I remember having a small issue when putting it together though, some of the pieces had to be 'convinced' to fit together, but it wasn't a big deal. The padding is still good on my stand, if i take the bass off the padding will fluff back up and look like new by the time i get back from my gig. |
