Rudys on 48th Street and Guitar Center on 14th Street are probably your best bets for a Ric in Manhattan.

+1

There are several stores on 48th Street. Manny's Music is another to check out on 48th St.

If you go downtown, look up Matt Umanov guitars http://www.umanovguitars.com/

Also 30th Street guitars http://www.30thstreetguitars.com/

Chelsea guitars http://www.chelseaguitars.com/ is very small but occasionally they get some unique used instruments

East Village Music http://www.evmnyc.com/

and lastly, Rivington Street guitars http://rivingtonguitars.com/

Sadowsky is a great suggestion but then he'd have to go to Brooklyn.......and who likes going there?

The sadowsky looks nice and all..... but they seem pretty common..... i really want a ric before i start to get into jazz and precision basses..... they're not my style.....

Hehe, I've got no idea of how it is in the states.....
