Is bass your favorite instrument?

Is bass your favorite instrument? On the surface, I know this may seem like an odd question on a bass site, but it isn't my favorite.

My favorite are tenor/alto sax and piano/keys, neither of which I can play. After that I'd go with guitar, which I have played longer than bass. That said, bass (which I obviously love to play) is my main instrument. This happened more out of readily available gigging opportunities than anything.

Am I alone here?

It goes back and forth between acoustic guitar and bass, but bass is my favorite about 90% of the time.

It depends - If I play by myself, I prefer guitar, but in a band setting, I'm all for bass. Drums come on very close 2nd place though.

It depends on the project, who I'm playing with, what's being played or how long I've been stuck on one instrument.

When I've been playing bass for a while, I'd like to be playing guitar, if I've been playing guitar for a while I'd like to be playing bass.

I really love sound in general, I don't care if it's a bass, percussion, a digerderoo, clarinet, shaker box, trumpet, lute, church organ. To limit your musical interest/love to 4 (or more) strings on a slab of wood seems weird to me.

Bass for work,
Theremin for enjoyment.

Bass is and always was my favorite. However, a funky keys player with a B3 makes me smile every time.

Yes.

Bass, then guitar. Then it's a tossup between pedal steel and harp (not harmonica).

I play bass in a rock band. In a blues band I play sax, harp, and keys (or play bass if the bassist isn't available that night). While I was trained on sax and am probably best on horn, bass is by far my favorite instrument to play. The bass zone I get into is what I imagine heroin would be like.

I couldn't chose a favorite instrument. I'm more interested in hearing how one instrument plays off of another as opposed to just what one instrument is doing. I probably have around as many guitarists and drummers as I do bassists among my favorite musicians (and throw in some keys, sax and trumpet players).

Definitely Bass, but I sure wouldn't mind trying out a Sitar.

The female voice is my favorite instrument, really. Since I can't sing well and have no interest in getting sex reassignment surgery, I can't perform with it. As a result, the bass thing is second place for me.

My brother in law just got one- he's in the midst of rehabbing it right now- it's been sitting in a warehouse for the past 20 years.

Piano when i'm alone, bass when in a band. Acoustic guitar comes a close second.
