Well I would like to expand a little my musical skills and I think a keyboard would be the way to go 3 of my "keyboard" inspirations are pretty awful sounding but I like the approach one of the its Jack White's Icky Thump the other one its Chris Ross ex-bassist of Wolfmother, The Raconteur's Salute your solution, I'll throw some links:

I would like to buy something vintage like a GEM, Korg Cx3, Hammond or something like that am I taking the correct path? can I get those sounds with something more modern? maybe I could use a midi controller are there good organ emulations out there?
I'm also interested in electric Piano ala Fender Rhodes but I think for the sounds I want to achieve and the band I'm playing with the Vintage Organ Chessey sound its the way to go, any opinion will be welcomed!

I bought my Hammond because someone was looking to make room in their living room. They had two and the older lady could no longer play hers, so they decided to keep one.

I got an excellent condition 1964 Hammond M-111 for $50.

Good deals can be had.

Since then, I've played several different keyboards, synthesizers, and organ pedals. It's a great skill to have.

I have a m-audio Pro keys 88. Nice for an electric piano, plus I can use it as a midi controler. I am in process of relearning since it have been a long while since I played keys.
