Don't know him, but the wife and I watch Idol every year. Casey amazingly talented, and is clearly in a different league than most of the others.

Casey has given me a reason to watch Idol again. I stopped watching a long time ago. I originally tuned in to see how Stephen Tyler was doing, but Casey is the real show.

If he gets eliminated, I doubt I'll continue to watch.

He's good!

Yeah, I saw one episode and this guy really popped out. He wasn't playing bass in the one I saw, but the dude can sing.

"American" what? Never watch it.

But any time a bass player gets positive attention, I approve.

Generally I hate this show, but if they're giving props to a bassist, count me in! Dude's just as good on bass

On one of the shows this week, Casey Abrams told Randy Jackson that he wants to challenge him to a "bass off". Of course, they both have admiration for each other as bassists and his good natured statement was appreciated by Randy.

I quit paying attention to AI the year that Melissa Dolittle didn't win. The year or two before the American public failed to vote for Jennifer Hudson, so that's two years where the person who was clearly the best singer, hands-down, didn't win. Never paid attention since.

A lot of the best talents do not win this show. Because the general public are the ones who vote, you have to expect the more pop type artists to win. But look at the record sales of past contestants, and almost always the singers who didn't win, out-sell the winners.

So I think either way, win or lose, Casey will have a career now after making it this far. Not saying he didn't before, but this will definitly help.

I despise the show and everything it stands for.....however this guy is REALLY interesting. First person I can recall ever seeing on any of these reality shows that I'd actually pay to see.
