Bassists for Love: Great Project Supporting Sick Kids, Organized by Andy Irvine

Hi, all.
I'm passing on this information about a terrific and worthy project headed by Denver-based touring bassist Andy Irvine (http://www.myspace.com/andyirvinebassist), at Andy's request ..... Anyone who would like to contact Andy directly can reach him at rock_boy_junior@yahoo.com or through his Facebook page.

Note from Andy:

Fellow bassists,

I have started my Basses for Love project and will be collecting and distributing basses for kids in hospitals undergoing cancer treatment and recovery through music therapy.

I will be collecting and fixing up old used basses that kind people are willing to donate. After they are cleaned up, re-strung , intonation set, and any necessary repairs made, I will be giving them directly to Blue Star Connection (http://www.grandblues.org/BlueStarCo...9/Default.aspx) to be placed in hospitals throughout the USA.

If you have an old bass sitting around it could bring soooo much joy to a kid, let me put in their hands. This is a Tax deductible donation. You will see your bass eventually in the hands of a child bringing smiles and powerful healing energy.

Send donation basses to: Basses for Love, 824 Wapiti Dr, Fraser CO 80442.

You promptly will be provided a receipt for tax purposes for the estimated value of the bass.

Respectfully,Andy Irvine

Thank you Philip and all for taking time to look at my BASSES FOR LOVE program I feel so strongly about. If you could see the joy on the kids faces when a bass (or other instrument) is put in their hands,it blows my mind the courage they have in the midst of a terrifying ordeal.

If you can think back to first grade or second or third and what you were doing, playing with friends being a kid. These children are locked up in crummy hospitals undergoing painful and frighting procedures as they cling to and fight for life. The power of music to heal and bring joy is in our hands and we should at least try to help where we can.Your old dusty bass can and will be the magic that these kids need.

In addition:

If you wish to make a donation of any amount of money, please send a check or money order payable to: Blue Star Connection, all funds go directly to the program and know where else. You will promptly receive a receipt for Tax purposes.

Send money donations to Andy Irvine/BSC PO Box 799 Winter Park CO, 80482

Thank you and blessings,Andy

Andy just reported that Spector has signed on to contribute basses to the project. I'm sure he'll be back in this space with more details.
