With the Hollywood writers strike and not much on TV lately,
I decided to bust out the Beatles Anthology (which I haven't watched since it came out 11 years ago.)
Last night I finished up tape #3. It was during the Coliseum show in Washington that it dawned on me that they had no vocal monitors. Once I realized that, I paid even closer attention to the vocals. They were great! I can't believe the audio of the band performance was so good despite all the screaming fans.
I admit that I am a fan, but their story is pretty incredible. I've also realized that there were so many pieces of the puzzle that came together to make it what it was. The time/era, the four musicians that ultimately became "The Band", the manager, producer and incredible talent. A once in a lifetime moment in time that some forty years later, still amazes me.
