The Beatles Problem Club

Do you have the problem with the Beatles? I do, but unlike the OP in this thread;
I have a Beatles problem,
my problem is I can never get enough of The Beatles. I read every book I can get my hands and study every song (even to the point of knowing where Ringo's drum throne squeaks in a song and where the cuts are in Strawberry Fields).

So I invite everyone to join The Beatles Problem Club. However, you don't have to love The Beatles, it could be that you don't get what all the fuss is about or you think John Myung is better bassist than Macca.

All are welcome and maybe some will be enlightened. Trivia is also welcome.

Yea, even after all these years I still marvel that they were able to cut through the corporate crap and be heard. Incredible talent all the way around.

What really is amazing to me is that they stuck together for so long. There was no role model for them to deal with the fame and yes they did take some missteps (John's 'Jesus' comments perhaps the worst) but they still stuck together and played each others music, even if they didn't care for the tune. They were a family that only a few other people can know or experience.

I saw "Across the Universe" the other day. Interesting movie in the way they presented the music in context that was different than the original. I left the theater amazed at the quality and power of that music. The Beatles music offers a maturity that is very uncommon in pop music.

People who dis them... well perhaps they are jealous of the fame and fortune (although they didn't do too well on the finanical scene at the time). Perhaps it's because the lyrics provide a more positive outlook on life and relationships than most other pop music. "All you need is love" - as innocent as it is true.

I still find Beatle lore fascinating. Bob Spitz's book is sitting on my coffee table right now. It's been there for 10 months.

Klaatu ROCKS! "Sir Army Suit" is awsome.

Ahem! Anyway...

When I was in college, a friend of mine and I used to play "drop the needle". We'd put on a Beatles album, place the needle anywhere on the disc and pick it up as quickly as possible. Then other person has to tell the song, the album and the side and track. I won!

I guess that makes me a member, hun?......

The best and most musical band that the world has produced to this date. Totally amazing.

John's Jesus comment was taken out of context.

Don't blame him because people picked up a Beatles record instead of a bible.

LOL I would have thought 'drop the needle' was a completely different game in Washington State.

I used to hate the Beatles, and all my contemporary friends used to look down on me because of it.

But as I grow older, I find myself liking them very much.

I think what I had was "Beatles overload" since my Dad used to listen to the Beatles a lot at home when I was growing up.

It's strangely apt though. In the world of pop music, the Beatles are like the bible, or the Iliad, or Shakespeare's work, in that people will always go back to them, look into the music, their vast body of work, and their lives, for as long as this rock-and-roll thing holds out. People might love them or hate them but they'll always be the most important band in the genre, period.

My name is Nick, and I'm a Beatlesholic (hiiii, Nick.).

I'm in for this one.

Did you know...? The final chord of "A Day In The Life" is 41 seconds long. To do this, they pushed the faders so hard in the studio that you can hear the studio's air conditioner in the last few seconds.
