I love his closing line. "I don't know why this makes me feel better about Behringer...But it does"

It really seems Behringer is determined to quash those rumours and impressions as well as many others. It looks like they're becoming a force to be reckoned with. Very interesting. |

I use this equipment several times a week in my rehearsal space and have not had the quality issues I've heard from others (The BX-3000 is used to keep the mileage off my Ashdown which I gig with weekly). I have no illusions that this is great gear but I have been satisfied that it was a good value for what I paid new. The video reinforced this. |

Sure enough, a month and one of the speakers went bad. I went to the dealer I bought it from and he contacted the company and was told that there had been a quality control problem with the glue on the cones, the problem had been corrected, and they would ship new speakers. The repair was done for free, as it should have been, and I have had no other problems for a year now.
I really think Behringer wants to stand behind their products, even if they are not the same caliber as Peavey, Ampeg, or any of the "name brands". One day I hope to get a really nice amp, but in the meantime, the Behringer is actually working out quite well and it's way better than what I had before (1969 Standel!) |

Two things I noticed: first, although he says they don't seem oppressed or underpaid (IIRC), he says that they're all young and that it's not a "regular" job, which means they are underpaid, because they work full-time. Second, what a coincidence that they had arrange a celebration for the workers right it the period when they had invited the journalists.... right.

Well at least the tools the workers work with are fine and the circumstances are alright -8 hrs work a day, cafeteria and dorms. I'm chinese myself (but live in Holland) and over here all these people say: you should be glad that you're not living in a poor village in china (I'm a cityboy myself; born in shanghai but that doesn't matter right now ) and work for such a company (you know the stories, 14 hrs work a day, get paid a few dollars a day etc) but this video shows me that the circumstances in these factories aren't worse than we have here in Holland, and that makes me feel good about companies that care about their workers, even though they get paid less.. but remember; these people can live a decent life for just a few hundred dollars a month so please put things into perspective!

I've been up in this area ... actually just a few weeks ago looking for fireworks over Chinese New Years ... Zhuhai outlawed them so you have to go outside the city to buy them.
I am amazed at how much development there is in this area. The roads are 4 to 8 lanes, and all of the land is planted, and there are buildings over nearly all of the land in pink on the map. It's really incredible to see the scale of industry. And it is always smoggy ... thick and constant.
Working conditions are decent; I think you'd find the dorms pretty cramped, but then it's no worse than the places where the workers come from (most are from poorer provinces)
