very cool! My Grandfather played a square necked like that... he was more of a Chet Atkins type, but fiddled with most anything that made noise.

This one's a roundneck. I had a Johnson singlecone reso for a few weeks several years ago, but chickened out and returned it. I really wanted a tricone, but they were a lot more money.

I stalled around long enough that the moved Johnson and Regal production to Asia and halved the price. This tricone is several hundred bucks less than that cheap singlecone from before! $420 shipped, and they get good reviews.

Mike Jewels should be along shortly - I seem to recall he likes Resos, too!

Sometime last summer I got to jam on a reso bass. It was pretty cool, felt bad in my hands, but sounded oh so nice. I always liked reso's

Nice score, Ken!

Right you are, Ken. I do like Resos - there's so much character to them.

I was going to get one of these Fenders a while back www.fender.com/products/show.php?partno=0955000

It's still on my list of non-bass items to get, but I might buy one of these first for photography purposes. www.lonestarguitars.com/cuatro.html

Picture a pretty Latin woman lying on a bed with one of those next to her, leaning against the wall.

It's one of my next projects.

Nice score!

I have a Johnson Dobro that's similar. A great axe that's made for Blues Hollerin.

I only wish I had one when I was busking. They produce the volume that's needed as a street performer, and can be heard over crowd noises or other buskers.

Great axe. Raise the action, and it's tone city.

Which? The pretty Latin woman, or the guitar?

Well, I'm an overweight middle-aged white guy that lives in the suburbs, but I'll give it my best.

www.ericsardinas.com I don't care much for his singing (well depends on the day really) I first discovered him on the Steve Vai Live at the Astoria (Yes I'm secretly a geetar wank fan) where he comes out at the end to jam and plays a solo. He has a really wicked resonator (washburn actually made a sig model of it.) well anyhow the solo he played was just sick, and the tone was so girtty and dirty and full of passion! there are a few clips on his site to check out.

Let's just say that the guitar is on the back burner.

Yes indeed, the last couple of days are the worst, but then - DING-DONG, followed by a smile.

Bummer.

It showed up today. Cosmetically the neck is a trainwreck; the workmanship as abysmal. Plus, per both the Music123 and Saga sites it is supposed to have a bound neck - not.

In addition, I was assured the case was an archtop - it's not.

Back it goes! I guess I'll have to save up for a used National.

That is a shame, Ken.

What is - saving up for a National? The sound clips of their baritone models really sound amazing...

Music123 is being good about it - they're eating the return shipping due to the circumstances. I'd buy from them again.
