I stalled around long enough that the moved Johnson and Regal production to Asia and halved the price. This tricone is several hundred bucks less than that cheap singlecone from before! $420 shipped, and they get good reviews.
Mike Jewels should be along shortly - I seem to recall he likes Resos, too!

Right you are, Ken. I do like Resos - there's so much character to them.
I was going to get one of these Fenders a while back www.fender.com/products/show.php?partno=0955000
It's still on my list of non-bass items to get, but I might buy one of these first for photography purposes. www.lonestarguitars.com/cuatro.html
Picture a pretty Latin woman lying on a bed with one of those next to her, leaning against the wall.
It's one of my next projects.

I have a Johnson Dobro that's similar. A great axe that's made for Blues Hollerin.
I only wish I had one when I was busking. They produce the volume that's needed as a street performer, and can be heard over crowd noises or other buskers.
Great axe. Raise the action, and it's tone city. |

He has a really wicked resonator (washburn actually made a sig model of it.) well anyhow the solo he played was just sick, and the tone was so girtty and dirty and full of passion! there are a few clips on his site to check out. |

It showed up today. Cosmetically the neck is a trainwreck; the workmanship as abysmal. Plus, per both the Music123 and Saga sites it is supposed to have a bound neck - not.
In addition, I was assured the case was an archtop - it's not.
Back it goes! I guess I'll have to save up for a used National.

Music123 is being good about it - they're eating the return shipping due to the circumstances. I'd buy from them again.
