Talking Being bassless has forced me to do something drastic....

I ordered an acoustic guitar!!!!!!!!

I've been bassless for a month now while it's getting converted back to EADG (how long does it take to cut a nut?!?!?! ) and slowly going insane. So I dig out of my closet an old, beat up, child size 1966 Airline acoustic. The binding is cracked, neck's warped, the strings are brown with rust, and it's missing the small E string tuner. I've played it before but only like a bass (single notes and intervals). I didn't know any chord fingerings or how to strum. So I printed out some lessons on major/minor chords and got to work.

I LOVE IT!

So I've decided to expand my horizons and take up guitar as well.

It's a Rogue (I'm poor right now OK ) honduran mahogany dreadnought. I got it for $60 at MF on sale (usually $80). I did some reading and it seems mahogany produces a mellower tone (obvious reasons why I'd prefer this). This will be my first experience with Rogue. I hope it's not a piece of poo.

Just had to share.

Oh man! Someone else like me! The other week I borrowed an ol' Applause acoustic from my friend...and I really don't wanna give it back. I've been able top come with more song ideas than I have evr hadd with my bass. I plugged it into my bass rig as well...and holy crap does it ever sound SWEET! Alil chourus, delay, and next week I'll try the Russian Small Stone with it as well...Dreamy!

Cool!!! I know what you mean. I've been playing things that sound like crap on my bass but sound great on the old, crappy acoustic I have. Can't wait to hear the new one.

For awhile I really wanted one to practice scales and such with while I was watching TV but then I tried a couple in the store and to be perfectly honest I didn't think they were that much louder than a solid body.
