Being content with current gear

I've just come to the realization that I'm content with my current stuff for now. I mean, as cool as new gear always is, and Iw as about to get some more, I realized that what I've got now is serving me pretty well, and yadayadayada.

Regardless, I doubt this will last long, but man, my stuff may be perfect soundwise, but to make up for it I'm just going to get better

Same thing happened to me when I (just recently) got my Para Driver. I just love the sounds I get from it.

Well, I mean I was about to get a third bass, but did some thinking, went back to playing my Ibanez (my first one) which I just restrung with Elixirs.

Thumpity thump, guess whose in love again...

I've got 70 bucks left to my 6'er, so once I get that... I'm pretty happy

i will be satisfied once i get the stealth bongo 5er i have been wanting. this will be my first proper bass, so it should satisfy me for quite a while.

Very happy here. Sometimes the GAS strikes, but meh - what I got is good.

For the most part GAS doesn't really get to me anymore. I have four nice basses and a couple of nice amps/cabs. I have finally found that "icing on the cake" to complete my cab line up as well.

The only thing I need is a 5/6 stringer for practicality reasons. Not really GAS'n for one but I really could use it.

Yea, I'm pretty content with my setup.

I look for excuses to buy new gear, but I haven't needed or even really wanted anything in almost a year and a half. I see the bass porn here on line and think - hmmm, a Stingray in discontinued Goblin Green Sparkle, yes... that would be sweet, but it is fleeting and then I am over it!

Wise words. I'm not quite there yet...but by vigilantly watching the amount of time I spend in the Amps/Basses/Effects forums I've really reduced my GAS.

I have only been playing a year, so I have had some pretty bad GAS. I started out with a $50 bass to see if I liked it. Since then, I I have upgraded a few times.

I currently am happy with my rig (Ashdown Mag300 and Avatar B115 Neo). I wouldn't mind a nice bass, because I built my own FrankenBass myself. It actually feels and plays pretty good, but I could go for an MIA Fender Jazz.

I've been content for quite a while, the only thing I've been really after is a Trace V-series.. alas to no avail (damn you punkbass!stealing MY v6!

A sansamp or a EB MM wouldn't go a miss. But I'm VERY happy with my Grabbers and my Trace stack

There's nothing i really need... a Boss TU-2 and some new strings would be handy... but hey im in no real need!

I've really been GAS'n for a nice pedal/effects setup and a 1x15 to add to my 4x10. And I've only had the 4x10 and new bass for a month.

My problem has been that I've been in a big improvement trend lately and I feel my equipment might be holding me back in some areas.

Most of the stuff I'm GASing over is recording equipment (matched pair of AKG 414s, ::drool:: ) so it's VERY expensive.

If something really special or unique comes along, I might try to get it. In the mean time, I'm happy with what I have.

No way I'll ever be satisfied.

I want half a dozen basses in the end. Including two Sadowsky, a custom 6, another G&L, and a couple more.
I want several different amps each worth several thousand, Eden stack and peavey classic 400 stack.
I want a yamaha baby grand piano someday.
I want two seperate pro drum kits no expense spared, one for heavier music, and a jazz kit.
I want two more taylor acoustics, but definately custom made.
I want PA gear that does not yet exist.
Much more I could want after that, but right now I'll focus on the first 50 grand or so.......a boy can dream

I gas for additions to my gear, not replacements. For what I do now the gear I have is perfect, but I'd like a nice fretless to mess around on.

I finally done for now, my place looks like a music store, I have more than I need, but I have to admit, I spent a lot to get there. I play guitar too and have my daughters drum set here because she can't play it in her apmt. so I mean it REALLY looks like a music store.
