Sucks

I'm sure plenty of you have been through it. How did you get over that frustrating wall?

I find that I go through cycles of sucktitude and awesome-itude. Eventually I just get over it.

I think the correct word is "Stagnant."

Take time off from your band to think about life, that's what I did.

I even improved during my hiatus, and did recordings.

Sometimes it's good to take a hiatus. I just take some time here and there when I would be practicing to go out and do stuff. Maybe call an old friend, go for a walk, anything, just get away from your musical head for a while and experience life.

Other times, I find all I need is a musical change of setting. Getting in a room with some players who challenge me in new ways is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.

There's millions of things you can do. It's all about seeking something new in yourself that you can bring to your music in order to make things fresh again.
