| Sometimes it's good to take a hiatus. I just take some time here and there when I would be practicing to go out and do stuff. Maybe call an old friend, go for a walk, anything, just get away from your musical head for a while and experience life.
Other times, I find all I need is a musical change of setting. Getting in a room with some players who challenge me in new ways is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.
There's millions of things you can do. It's all about seeking something new in yourself that you can bring to your music in order to make things fresh again. |
