Bending rack

I was just wondering, because I've started building up my rack now. What do you do to stop all the weightfrom damaging your equipment? I was thinking of putting a wooden board underneath my head to stop all the force and using the screws only to keep it in place rather than taking the brunt of it. What do you guys do to keep things safe?

SWR reccomends doing this with the 750X. If you have a heavy head, put it at or as close to the bottom space as you can with a board for support.

Thanks. Yeah I noticed most people put their head on the bottom, but it still give that little bit of space below it. I was thinking some foam might help? Give it something to sit on whilst giving a bit of extra protection at the same time?

if your rack does not have rear rails you might want to find one that does......i have some very heavy gear in some of my racks and they have never stressed.....the plastic road cases with the clips seem to have the weakest rails......

the quick fix is the piece of wood.....

Hi.

Foam, wood, nails, duct-tape: all band aids. Exept for wood if it's used as rear rails.

Rear support rails is what You need, but those don't have to be factory made if the configuration stays the same for a longer period of time. Angle iron, framing angles, strips of wood etc. are a decent substitute if the airflow isn't obstructed.

Regards
Sam
