Sign in to disble this ad
I would like to know from fellow bassists if anyone of you cats have taken and completed Berklees certificate classes online? If so do you think they help you in the music business world, whether on a small level like getting a teaching position for some local music school or gigs ? I was thinking about taken them if they are benificial from a career stand point. I work a 9-5, plus my age, I cant go to Berklee in the true sense.

Music schools want real degrees (unless you're a monster player then some will have an "artist in residence" program but the pay will be lower than a regular prof).

I would think that some online courses could be beneficial. It's better than not learning the stuff. As far as getting gigs, that all depends on your playing and not on any degree. Of course, with some theory knowledge, you could improve your playing.

But even Berklee will not let you use the online credits toward one of their regular degrees.
