First of all, you should know the birthday boy's (my dad) history.
He is a very experienced former sound contractor, and has worked in quite a few guitar shops as a guitar tech and has even co-owned his own shop. He has built great guitars for people, and all of his are custom hot-rod's that play like the stuff dreams are made of.
He's also an imposing looking guy, 6' 1", 220lbs, hair past his shoulders, heavy metal T-shirts and just over all kind of resembles the mad biker of the apocalypse. but once you get to know him, he's a really nice guy, with a strange sense of humor. (Gee, a musician with a twisted sense of humor? who would have thought?!)
Well, after nearly a year and a half of searching music shops online, my mother and I found the perfect present for his 51st birthday; something that amused him ever since he first saw one online:
A pink Fender/Squire "Hello Kitty" Stratocaster.
He absolutely loves it, and surprisingly enough, it is a fine playing guitar!
Now, before any of you post "NO PICS = NO HELLO KITTY", I cannot upload pictures, so if any of you are feeling kind, please post any pictures you have of this model guitar for me.
So, tell us what awesome/funny birthday gifts you have ever given and/or received.
