Best company to ship with?

I haven't bought or sold a guitar/bass in years. I am getting rid of some stuff on Ebay (before the new fees kick in), and I am trying to calculate my shipping costs up front.

I found FedEx to be the cheapest and easiest to use, but they have destroyed an amp I shipped once. Granted, they did put out the full insurance amount.

FedEx? UPS? USPS? Any online stores were I could buy boxes (with no minimum order)?

I've had luck with USPS. They're very fast. One dude who sent me a bass sent it Tuesday it was here Thursday, and he payed nothing extra. And it came from Florida.

As far as boxes, ask nicely at your local GC for hardshell boxes. They just throw them out, so they'll usually just give you one.

As a UPS employee I feel somewhat obligated to say UPS.
